Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Like most online stores, Welmer uses cookies to make the Site work, to understand how it is used and to show relevant offers. This notice lists the cookies we set, what each one does, and how to change your preferences at any time.

1. About Cookies

A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser so it can recognise you on later pages or visits. Session cookies disappear when you close the browser; persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them. Cookies set by our own domain are first-party; those set by our partners (for example Google or Meta) are third-party. Pixels, tags and local storage work in a similar way and are covered here too.

2. Cookies We Use

We group our cookies into four categories:

  • Essential (always on): Shopify cookies that run the cart, checkout, login and security, such as cart, _shopify_s, _shopify_y, _secure_session_id, secure_customer_sig.
  • Functional: remember your currency, language and dismissed banners (localization, keep_alive).
  • Performance and analytics: Shopify analytics and Google Analytics cookies (_shopify_sa_p, _landing_page, _ga, _gid) that show us which pages work and which do not, in aggregated form.
  • Marketing: pixels and cookies from Meta and Google (_fbp, _gcl_au) that measure our ads and personalise the ones you see elsewhere; you can opt out at any time.

3. Cookie Lifetimes

Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last between 30 minutes (session-tracking) and 13 months (analytics and advertising identifiers), after which they expire unless renewed by a new visit. You can delete any cookie earlier through your browser settings.

4. How to Control Cookies

You can also control cookies through your browser: block or delete them in Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge under privacy settings (blocking essential cookies will prevent checkout from working). To opt out of targeted advertising cookies specifically, use the controls on the Cookie preferences page, enable the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, which we honor, or use the industry opt-out tools at optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu. Opting out of Google Analytics is possible with Google's browser add-on.

5. Third Parties That Set Cookies

The third parties that may set cookies on welmeroffice.com are Shopify (platform and analytics), Shopify Payments (powered by Stripe) and the payment methods you select (checkout security), Google (Analytics and Ads), Meta (Facebook/Instagram pixel), and the apps we use for reviews, tracking and email. Each processes the data under its own privacy policy; we do not control their cookies, but we only allow them for the purposes described here.
